Nailing the Job Interview – How to Sell Yourself Effectively

The key to getting a job in today’s tight job market is not only about your GPA, how many organizations you’re a member of or how well your resume is laid out, but how you interview for the position. This program is focused on one thing, helping you position yourself in an interview so that when you walk out of there you’re the obvious choice for them to hire.

Who Should Attend: Students who are about to graduate or looking for summer internships.

Length of Program: 1 - 2 hours

Description: Employers today are looking for key characteristics in the people they’re hiring. Knowing what they’re looking for is half the battle in winning them over. The other half is simply knowing what the employer needs (i.e., why they’re really hiring) and learning how to sell to those needs.

  • This program will help you structure the types of questions you should ask so you’re not going into the interview “winging it.”
  • Learn how to lower an employer’s resistance and make them more open to what you have to offer as an employee.
  • You’ll also learn how to block objections or reservations that the interviewer might have about hiring you. This is where most people simply get it wrong!
  • Every employer has a reason(s) for not wanting to hire you, but if you can get past those reasons with a few tips and tricks, you’ll easily position yourself ahead of your competition.

Whether you like to sell or not, you’re going to have to learn the gentle art of persuasion and influence if you want to get hired! You’re going to see and learn how easy it is to sell yourself without being pushy. Selling yourself is all about structuring a conversation that puts you in the best light by assuaging concerns and handling questions effortlessly. Learn how to prepare and how to effectively handle yourself during the process. Do it right the first time because more often than not, there is no second chance.

Diversity – A New Perspective
Are you looking for a different diversity program to bring to your school? One that will inspire cooperation not animosity? Then this is the program! Victor wilI ZOOM OUT and at look at diversity from a broader perspective.

For example, did you know that only 10% of the U.S. population has a passport, which means that 90% of us will never leave the U.S. and see how other cultures live.

Living and traveling abroad to Europe, Middle East, Latin America, South Africa and Asia has opened my eyes and has given me a greater appreciation of America and the true meaning of ‘Diversity’ calling into question many of our strongly held beliefs about race and multiculturalism.

This is NOT you average talk on Diversity! If you're tired of the basic 'blather' and are looking for a new type of program that will reinvigorate the 'spirit of cooperation' (not the spirit of favoritism or special treatment), you have to hear this talk.

Filled with humor and facts, Your audience will leave with their PARADIGMS seriously SHIFTED. Victor takes NO sides, and takes no prisoners in this talk :-) Victor Antonio is a professional speaker who will entertain, enlighten and inspire your audience.

Speaker’s Bio

Victor Antonio has been on both sides of the interviewing table. As a college graduate Victor had to go through the interview process like many students are doing today. He has also been on the other side of the hiring table as President of Sales/ Marketing and CEO of high-tech companies. Victor knows what to look for when it comes to hiring a new employee. He knows what questions to ask because he himself has asked them. More importantly he knows what managers and executives are looking for in a new hire. Think of Victor as your “Interviewing Coach” who will take you by the hand and walk you through what you need to say and do. Victor Antonio has a B.S. Electrical Engineering and an MBA. In addition to coaching students to success, he is a sales coach who works with small and large companies on how to sell more effectively. As a past executive he knows what employers are looking for when they’re hiring. Learn from someone who can help you get that first real job!

"Amazing! As an educator, I wish I could get you to talk to every one of my students. You're an energetic speaker and what 'college advisement' should truly be about. I have never seen anyone touch members of every age group so effectively! This event helped put my life in perspective and now I am confident I can reach my goals."
Kush B, Phd. Candidate, SUNY, Buffalo

The students are still speaking about him and how much they enjoyed his sessions. He really took me seriously when I WARNED HIM he better be good! Thing is he wasn't just good - he was excellent! We even have a student who is interested in becoming a motivational speaker and found Victor's speech to affirm his goal. Again, thank you for your attention and service.
