North Coast is New York City’s premiere hip hop improv comedy team. The audience provides a suggestion and North Coast will run with it – performing a fully improvised “Hip H’Opera” right in front of your eyes. The show is upbeat and energetic from start to finish and will leave you on the edge of your seat!
North Coast boasts nationally recognized beatboxers on their cast roster. A unique collaboration of hip hop, music, and comedy – North Coast has been wowing audiences at comedy venues, festivals, and universities across the country since 2009. In 2014, they were featured on Slate’s podcast, The Gist. They’ve been described as “mind-blowing” and “next level” but you’ll just have to see it for yourself. And if you don’t know… now you know.

North Coast will perform a one hour hip-hop improv show at your College, Institution or Company. This show would consist of two halves (approx 25-30 mins each) of comedy. One half inspired by an interview with a member of the audience, and the other half where North Coast will do our original hip-hip improv form that we perform around New York City.
North Coast will conduct 1-2 workshops at your College or Institution on freestyle rap. They will teach the students how to effortlessly fold in the basics of freestyle rap into improv comedy. Students will perform their own freestyles into improvised scenes for the class.
North Coast’s Beatboxer can give a tutorial on how to beatbox to students who want to learn.
THE RICK ROSS
North Coast will perform a forty-five minutes to an hour hip-hop improv show at your College, Institution, or Company. This show would consist of two halves (approx 25-30 mins each) of comedy. One half inspired by an interview with a member of the audience, and the other half hip-hop improv.

THE IMMORTAL TECHNIQUE
North Coast will perform a 30-60 minute hip-hop improv show at your College or Institution. We will do our original, award-winning, improv form that we perform around New York City and at festivals, colleges, and corporations around the country.
Douglas Widick is a founding member of Hip Hop Improv group, North Coast. You can catch him performing around NYC with many other musical improv, improv, and sketch groups as well. He is a member of house musical Improv teams at both the Magnet and PIT Theaters, and just finished sketch shows with Pop Roulette (PIT), The 2017 Tony Awards (UCB), Dead Dads Club (UCB), and his UCB Maude Team Dangerous Woman. Doug teaches an 8-week Hip-Hop Improv class at the Magnet Theater and was recently seen in the off-broadway musicals F#%king Up Everything and Blank! The Musical. James Robilotta started performing improv and stand-up comedy in 2004. Originally from Sayville, NY, James started consistently performing improv while at graduate school with Clemson University’s troupe “Mock Turtle Soup”. Since moving back to New York in 2007 he has studied at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and the Magnet Theater under Will Hines, Chris Gethard, Charlie Todd, Zach Woods, Eric Tanouye, Rebecca Drysdale, Armando Diaz, Charlie Sanders, Michael Delaney, John Lutz, Matt Walsh, Ian Roberts, Gavin Speiller, Billy Merritt, Curtis Gwinn, Michael Martin, and Eliza Skinner. James is the founder of the freestyle-rapping, beatboxing, always fresh, long-form team “North Coast”. When he is not holding it down with North Coast, he can be seen performing improv regularly throughout New York City on “Veal”, “Extreme Chain”, “Space Camp”, and “#Klepper”.
