ABOUT MATT HOBBS
Humans and dogs have been BFFs for thousands of years, living and playing with us longer than any other species. Fueled by that unconditional love shared with his own pooches Leni & Marley (AKA Mar Pup), musician Matt Hobbs began writing, performing, and sharing songs about them. With his background and current role as music director and improviser at the legendary Dad’s Garage Theater in Atlanta, he deftly flitted across genres and eras to honor his two companions.

Over 165 songs later, Puppy Songs has exploded into an international sensation with more than 1,000,000 followers online (@PuppySongs). He has composed theme songs for many celebrity dogs and supported life-saving fundraisers & adoption days for rescues around the nation. At the live shows, expect to hear the classics like "Cheese Tax," "Big Stretch," "Stuck on My Teefs," "Spot for My Snoot," "Amazon Man," and "What If It Was for Puppies?" along with extra stories, videos, unreleased material, and the opportunity to bond with fellow animal lovers in your community. Of course, your own dogs are encouraged to attend, and we welcome discussion about your venue options in order to allow it.
 
Whether your best friend is furry, feathered, or scaly, we treasure the relationship all the same, and nurturing that connection for anyone is the magic of Puppy Songs.

Born and raised in New Orleans, Matt Hobbs is a songwriter and producer who loves creating songs that tell interesting stories and connect with people. Matt lives in Atlanta, GA with his wife and their two dogs, Leni and Marley (AKA Mar Pup), who inspire a seemingly endless supply of song ideas.

Outside of Puppy Songs, Matt writes and produces original songs for himself and other artists and creates songs for advertising, TV, film, and live events. As a passionate lover of musical theatre, Matt is also a longtime music director and accompanist at Dad's Garage Theatre in Atlanta.

Matt was named "Reader's Pick - Best Songwriter" by Creative Loafing ATL in 2019.
