I wanted to reach out and thank you all for the opportunity to listen to Ryan Prior. His story impacted many of us including myself. I have always wanted to know the patient's point of view when dealing with medical professionals that don't seem to listen. I know for me; this story hits close to home when my mother went through a period in life where she felt unheard. My mother was, and still is, suffering from a disease that doctors could not pinpoint or figure out and often chose to ignore what we said. My mother's story is the reason I chose this career and keep going. Hearing Ryan express the feelings and emotions he had gone through was something so moving. I thank you all for the opportunity again and look forward to hearing more.

Thank you for your fireside chat, broadcast at a conference for Brazilian undergraduate and graduate students in various health professions and disseminated broadly via the web to Portuguese speaking patient collectives, organizations in Brazil, Portugal and Portuguese speaking immigrant communities in Europe and beyond. Your talk was a highlight at the conference inspiring students to learn and o more about ME and Long Covid, and to recognize the power of patients to advance research and clinical practice. The broader audience marveled at your ability to convey dense scientific information in an approachable, understandable way. Your compassion and warmth, your compelling story and urgent call for patient engagement was uplifting and affirming. You left us feeling informed, hopeful and empowered.

Ryan is an engaging and gifted speaker. His ability to weave his personal story with his extensive knowledge of history, policy and statistics provides a complete picture for my students as they explore the complexity of U.S. healthcare and policy. He is an exceptional storyteller and an inspiring human.

I am extremely appreciative to you all for affording the program with the chance to have Mr. Prior speak to us. It was a unique opportunity to have him provide us with details of his experience with the healthcare system. I was touched by the way he spoke about his struggle to be given an accurate diagnosis. He was incredibly humble when acknowledging the fact that his privilege allowed him to receive a diagnosis quicker than patients with similar illnesses. He is an engaging speaker. Being in attendance for the seminar serves as an asset to all of us as we move forward to provide care to our patients.

I wanted to reach out and thank you for the opportunity to hear from such a powerful speaker. Having the entire nursing program be given the opportunity to learn about [Ryan's] experience offers a significantly in depth understanding than anything that could ever be read in a textbook. As someone who has seen a family member go through similar struggles with a chronic illness, I am beyond grateful to have seen this level of recognition and education.

I recommended Ryan to give a book talk to the Stanford Peninsula Alumni Club. He drew a voluminous turnout due to his reputation as a CNN reporter and the buzz generated around his book launch. During his lecture, I was impressed by his almost 'gubernatorial' presence. He was professional, charismatic, articulate, and uncommonly kind, with thoughtful answers to Stanford audience questions. He was equally adept in discussing cutting-edge genetics tests as he was in offering sage advice from stoic philosophers in dealing with suffering, and how to discover one's purpose in life. Ryan's performance with us led to invitations to speak at other Stanford alumni clubs around the country.

It was my pleasure to have Ryan Prior address audiences through an interview with Open Medicine, a global nonprofit, and Boston University's Masters of Health Communication Program. Ryan possesses a rare gift for storytelling that can simultaneously inform and inspire, making complex health concepts accessible to everyone. Ryan's presentations were engaging, compelling, and most importantly, Ryan's true passion for his subject shines through. This ignites a spark within his audience, inspiring dynamic conversations and a renewed commitment to patient advocacy and effective health communication.

In this  gripping, compassionate, and deeply reported narrative, Ryan Prior tells the story of Long Covid as it should be told, centering the experiences of people who predicted the condition, endured it, named it, and researched it. Long-haulers are the heroes of their own story, and this important book beautifully captures their struggle and their courage.

I've had low level nerve tingling symptoms ever since I got Covid in March 2020. I started to talk about it when I heard repeated stories of others whose more serious symptoms were being dismissed and doubted. Ryan Prior brings these stories to light, shows how patients' advocacy pushed research into causes and cures, and illuminates how many questions we still need to answer. A book we need right now.
