I wanted to reach out and thank you all for the opportunity to listen to Ryan Prior. His story impacted many of us including myself. I have always wanted to know the patient's point of view when dealing with medical professionals that don't seem to listen. I know for me; this story hits close to home when my mother went through a period in life where she felt unheard. My mother was, and still is, suffering from a disease that doctors could not pinpoint or figure out and often chose to ignore what we said. My mother's story is the reason I chose this career and keep going. Hearing Ryan express the feelings and emotions he had gone through was something so moving. I thank you all for the opportunity again and look forward to hearing more.

I am extremely appreciative to you all for affording the program with the chance to have Mr. Prior speak to us. It was a unique opportunity to have him provide us with details of his experience with the healthcare system. I was touched by the way he spoke about his struggle to be given an accurate diagnosis. He was incredibly humble when acknowledging the fact that his privilege allowed him to receive a diagnosis quicker than patients with similar illnesses. He is an engaging speaker. Being in attendance for the seminar serves as an asset to all of us as we move forward to provide care to our patients.

In this gripping, compassionate, and deeply reported narrative, Ryan Prior tells the story of Long Covid as it should be told, centering the experiences of people who predicted the condition, endured it, named it, and researched it. Long-haulers are the heroes of their own story, and this important book beautifully captures their struggle and their courage.

I've had low level nerve tingling symptoms ever since I got Covid in March 2020. I started to talk about it when I heard repeated stories of others whose more serious symptoms were being dismissed and doubted. Ryan Prior brings these stories to light, shows how patients' advocacy pushed research into causes and cures, and illuminates how many questions we still need to answer. A book we need right now.
