Daniel Jewiss - IntroDaniel Jewiss has over 20 years’ experience as a CT State Trooper. His career in law enforcement includes four years at a "country troop" as a front line patrol Trooper where he developed his basic criminal investigator skills and where, as a deskman, he worked alongside some remarkable Dispatchers. Dan then spent twelve years as a Detective in the elite Connecticut State Police Major Crime Squad where he investigated numerous felonies. In 2012, Dan was assigned as the Lead Investigator for the tragic Sandy Hook School Shooting in which 26 lives were taken. In 2014, Dan became an Instructor at the State Police Training Academy, where his primary areas of instruction are Search & Seizure, Active Shooter, and Leadership. Dan still remains committed to supporting those victims and their families from Sandy Hook, as well as spreading his law enforcement perspective and Lessons Learned from that horrific event.
