Students Fight Back
75 minute workshop + Q&A
Safety and health are at the front of our minds right now. Part of managing your personal safety is adapting to the situation by taking in the available information, and executing practiced techniques accordingly. Whether the crisis is a pandemic or simply feeling sketched out on a dark night, the value of keeping yourself safe, feeling empowered and living confidently is consistent.
Our techniques have been adapted for online audiences as a discussion-based workshop that is informative, interactive and fun! Learn how to remain aware of your surroundings and avoid both dangerous people and microbes. Set physical & verbal boundaries; crucial in the age of social distancing. Cooped up in your rooms or dorms? Get your bodies moving with some physical self-defense skills that can be discussed and practiced among your students long after the workshop has ended.. We will address specific questions like how to set a boundary in that high-tension group meeting or how to handle an angry or panicked person while handling essential tasks in public. Students' remaining questions are all addressed in the Q&A immediately following.
COVID19 has shown us just how quickly a situation can change, and just like in self-defense: it’s not about what you should do, it’s about what you can do!
